HUMANS

This is what everybody started as originally. Not everyone gets to have super duper special abilities, but not everyone needs them! Humans are the bread and butter of the world, and while there are many super natural critters out there, there are more humans. Humans can be from everywhere. As a human you can ask a were, vampire, fae or half-breed to protect you. This will not be a free service, and the protector may ASK anything of you. If you make an agreement, then you must abide by it otherwise the protection will be revoked. If someone fucks with you while you're protected, your protector has the right to beat the ever living (or dead) snot out of whoever attacked you. Humans only have to answer to human law - and while many see being human as a negative thing, others see it is a positive. They can relate to each other better, after all.
MAGIC USERS

Magic users aren't some harry potter mofo's with wands that run around flinging a short list of spells at bad guys. Magic Users specialize in a form of magic - anything from fire, water, earth etc, to electricity and sonic and more, and while they MUST specialize, they have small skills with other spells and rituals. Unless they are a very powerful mage, they need foci of some sort - staffs, bracelets and more. They CAN have a lengthened lifespan of upwards of 300 years. Not every magic user will have a long lifespan. On average their life spans are increased by 40 years to 60 years. (Only two over 200 year olds please). They have what is called a Mage's Sight. The Sight usually shows concepts physically, eg if a loved one had recently died, a person could have wounds similar to those of a sword. In the case of half mortals, through the sight, they see the true nature - be it demon or angel. The Sight can break through illusions. Use of the Sight, sometimes also referred to as "third eye", allows a mage to gaze upon the world and see its supernatural side, allowing the perception of things hidden to the normal eye. What has been seen through the use of the Sight will remain a lasting memory forever, and will neither fade nor be forgotten. Because of this, wizards don't use it often, for it could easily drive them insane.

HALF ANGELS

Half-Angels aren't just myths or something loosely associated with religion, they are real, living beings with hearts that beat, lungs that breathe, and wings that can allow them to fly. They are naturally gifted healers. Their personalities, though, can often become softer causing a person to care more about others around them than themselves. At times in the recent history Half Angels have been also called ' Fallen Angels'. And although most of us believe Fallen Angels to be angels that have been stripped of their wings or kicked out of heaven, that is simply not the case. Fallen Angels are simply half human and half angel sent to do the Gods biddings, to protect the human race and to hopefully one day have the blessing of being welcomed into the heavens above.
FAE

An elf (plural elves) is a being of Germanic mythology. The elves were originally thought of as a race of divine or semi-divine beings (wights, vættir) endowed with magical powers, which they use both for the benefit and the injury of mankind. In pre-Christian mythology, they appear to have been divided into light elves and dark elves, difficult to delineate from the Æsir (gods) on one hand and the dvergar (dwarves) on the other.
In early modern and modern folklore, they become associated with the fairies of the 19-century Romantic portrayal of English folklore and assume a diminutive size, often living underground in hills or rocks, or in wells and springs. 19th-century Romanticism attempted to restore them to full stature, often depicting them as very young, probably adolescent (lack of facial hair on male elves), men and women of great beauty. From their depiction in Romanticism, elves entered the 20th-century high fantasy genre in the wake of the publications of J. R. R. Tolkien, especially the posthumous publication of his Silmarillion where Tolkien's treatment of the relation of light elves, dark elves, black elves and dwarves in Norse mythology is made explicit.
-- Think Lord Of The Rings --
Pixies (also Pixy, Pixi, Piskies and Pigsies as they are sometimes known in Cornwall) are mythical creatures of folklore, considered to be particularly concentrated in the areas around Devon and Cornwall, suggesting some Celtic origin for the belief and name.
They are usually depicted with pointed ears, and often wearing a green outfit and pointed hat. Sometimes their eyes are described as being pointed upwards at the temple ends. These, however, are Victorian Era conventions and not part of the older mythology.
In modern use, the term can be synonymous with fairies or sprites.
HALF DEMONS

If half-angels are the good guys, then half-demons are definitely the bad guys to counteract all of their positivity, rainbows, butterflies, and pretty pink pony stuff . Meant to counteract everything an angel is, they are gifted with dark magic and the love for all things devious. Their personalities seem to grow more sinister every day. Although both are half-lings thus making them part human/mortal, the nature of Half-demons is pure evil. Because of this factor they normally won't tell you that they are a half-ling, as you can't ACTUALLY tell a difference between a full demon and a half-ling.
WERES/SHIFTERS

Weres connect deeply with one particular animal. Unlike Weres of folklore though, they can change their form at will and not just on full moons, but they HAVE to change on the full moon. If they change at will, they suffer from irritability, soreness and a shorter temper for a little while after the change. To become a WERE, one must be savaged until near death by a Were. A scratch, bite or clawing will NOT do it. It has to be severe trauma with a high likely hood of death. Were's can be BORN a were, but it is very rare (only five within game are allowed) Their lifespan is increased by forty (40) to ninety (90) years. And they have a terrible allergy to silver - if ingested or inhaled they can die if not treated. They have a fast healing rate a minor cut can heal in a matter of minutes, a broken bone in a matter of days (the more severe the break, the longer it takes). Silver made wounds take twice to three times as long to heal. In human form, their senses -are- heightened. They have the ability to change their form into that of a single animal. Ability to communicate with that particular species in their secondary form, regardless of which form they are in through a mind link. New set of strengths and weaknesses as defined by what particular species their secondary form is (for example if you were a house cat you would have excellent hunting skills but also a new found fear of water) Were Females cannot reproduce, the change is too violent on a woman. Male Weres CAN reproduce with a human, magic user or halfbreed. However, only 1 out of every ten to fifteen children they sire will be a born were. Born were's show signs of their condition when they hit puberty. Were's CANNOT become vampires. Were's can only be of the Mammal group - coyotes, bears, wolves, big cats, cats, etc.
VAMPIRES

Vampires are vicious creatures of the night. They feed from humans, they generally see them as cattle, and have no problem causing them harm. They can go out in the daylight, but only with appropriate cover on their skin, and they show up in film, on camera and in mirrors. They are effectively immortal BUT they can be killed. There are different families of Vampires - the Moretti an Italian family known for their skill with emotional magics, the Phuri-Dae a Romanian family known for their skill with illusions and the Jade Dragons, a Chinese family known for their inhuman and over the even quickest non-Dragon vampire's speeds. By no means are these the only families, they are just the most prevelent in the area of Romania. You can belong to one, or not, it doesn't matter. All vampires have the ability to heal quickly, move quickly and so on. You can get drunk, high or whatnot, but it takes three times as much to really do anything. If you drink from a drunk, you will get drunk, however.
